The color is based on the knock-off version of Spectreman toys produced in Japan in the 1970s.
Spectreman has never been as popular as Ultraman and other Tokusatsu heroes in the 1970s. But somehow, different manufacturers made many different versions of knockoff toys that year. Awesome Toy started the Fake Spectreman toy line in 2015, and they made 8 characters so far, all based on designs from those knockoffs, and this toy is one of them.
